The smaller sister island to St Kitts, Nevis is just 35 square miles in size and offers a more relaxed and almost sleepy feel in comparison to many of its neighbouring islands. With its lush and green mountainous backdrop visitors can enjoy many of its natural attractions and activities such as the hiking or biking along the nature trails, visiting its wonderful botanical gardens or walking around the quiet streets and central square of the island’s small and charming capital, Charlestown. This island has no resort areas, each of its hotels are well placed and designed so as to fit in with the low key surroundings. The nightlife is also very low key with a more local cultural feel. Many aspects of the island’s infrastructure have retained its original Caribbean style, such as the small casual Newcastle Airport that caters for the daily regional flights. Visitors can only fly into Nevis by transiting through neighbouring St Kitts or Antigua, giving them the option of twinning their stay with time on one of these contrasting islands. A great island for honeymooners and couples as well individuals looking for a completely laid back holiday.
