Bermuda, often referred to as being part of the Caribbean, but infact located in the Atlantic and closer to America, is just over 21 miles long and approximately 2 miles across at its widest point, and is often referred to as the “Jewel of the Atlantic.” Like many similar Caribbean islands Bermuda is renowned for its pink sand beaches and beautiful blue waters, and offers a full range of activities for those who love the water including diving – there are over 400 wrecks and 200 square miles of coral reefs surrounding the island, and the warm waters are the clearest in the western Atlantic. Golf lovers will also enjoy Bermuda as the island offers more golf courses per square mile than anywhere else in the world. If you love history then Bermuda also offers a wealth of places of interest to visit. The former capital town of St George’s is the oldest British colony dating back to 1610 and is the home of St Peter’s Church - the oldest continuously used Anglican church in the Western Hemisphere, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A great destination for couples and friends holidaying together.
