MEET CULSEN TRAVEL’S WEDDING CO-ORDINATOR….
 My name is Stephanie Morson-Thomas and I hold the dual role of being one of the Directors of Culsen Travel as well as the Wedding Co-ordinator - and I can definitely say that organising couples’ weddings is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding aspects of my job – albeit sometimes equally as challenging….
I have worked in the travel industry for over 10 years and specialised in Caribbean travel throughout this time - travelling around the Caribbean extensively and even spending 18 months living and working in the travel industry on the beautiful island of Antigua. I am passionate about travel, and particularly about the Caribbean, and being a Director of Culsen Travel allows me to combine these two passions as I assist in introducing client’s to the benefits of both, by assisting in tailor-making their ideal Caribbean holiday.
My third passion centres around helping couples who dream of getting married in the Caribbean, to fulfil that dream by assisting in arranging their special day in an idyllic setting on the island of their choice – or my recommendation!!! However, my passion is also based on firsthand experience, as 5 years ago I also got married in the Caribbean on one of my personal favourite islands, Tobago.
My wedding experience helped me to appreciate that for many couples the idea of getting married in the Caribbean is an exciting one, but the prospects of knowing where to start in making the arrangements can be less thrilling, and there can be anxieties in entrusting your most important day to complete strangers. I try to alleviate any concerns a couple may have about this in our first conversation by discussing what they imagine as their ideal wedding day, location and setting, and getting an idea of their approximate budget so I can try to work within this and make initial recommendations on specific destinations or properties which might suit their vision.
For couples who want a more bespoke wedding that might not be suited to a hotel or resort’s wedding package, or for couples who are planning to invite large numbers of guests to join them in celebrating their wedding overseas, their needs will generally be more complex and so I arrange to visit and meet with the couple so they can raise any questions they may have, and I can discuss the various alternative wedding options available to them, showing them our portfolio of couples who have had similar styled weddings which we have organised. I also suggest suitable accommodation packages which we can recommend and organise on behalf of their wedding guests, making it easier for the bride and groom to feel confident that getting married abroad will not pose any major difficulties for their family and friends as they hand over the co-ordination of their travel arrangements to us.
Part of our success in arranging a couples’ dream wedding is based on the working relationship we have with our on-island wedding co-ordinators. These co-ordinators are professional, efficient and dedicated and have a thorough knowledge and good working relationship with their suppliers, and so whether it is the flowers, catering, cake, photography or music, they are able to co-ordinate arrangements and ensure everything is in place for the day, also attending the wedding in person to oversee all the necessary arrangements.
